Members of CalCom and Ponderosa Telephone Company attended the NTCA Legislative & Policy conference in Washington D.C. from April 26-29, which included two (2) full days on Capitol Hill, and 14 meetings with Congressional Staff to bring our industry’s voice directly to the Hill. The Universal Service Fund remained front and center.  This funding is a lifeline for rural providers, and protecting it is essential to keeping broadband affordable and investment flowing to the communities that need it most. Permitting issues facing the Telecommunications Industry were also discussed.

A big “Thank You” to NTCA for the outstanding advocacy support and for continuing to champion rural broadband at the national level.

Greg Andreas (CalCom COB and General Manager, Ponderosa), Jennifer Burkhalter (CFO, Ponderosa), and Tom Dominico (Director of Network Engineering, Ponderosa) all attended the conference.
