POSITION:  Billing Clerk Trainee

POSITION:  Outside Plant Facilities Engineer

Currently seeking to add a telecommunications professional to our Engineering team.   The successful candidate will have first-hand experience in applying economical, construction, and engineering principles to research, design, and coordinate the installation or rearrangement of all Outside Plant fiber, cable and electronic facilities.  Furthermore, applicants practiced in Mapcom (M4 mapping) and Global Positioning System software for layout, design, and recordkeeping of Outside Plant Facilities preferred. Knowledge of Rural Utilities Service is advantageous, as is a working understanding of the requirements of Right of Way and Construction.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum five years’ experience in outside plant engineering

  • Associate Degree or higher preferred
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule with overtime as needed

POSITION:  Junior-Senior Construction Technician

JUNIOR CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN
Sierra Tel is currently seeking a Junior Construction Technician to join its team.  Qualified applicants will enjoy working outdoors, in a variety of locations, and learning new construction methods.  A typical day may include moving vehicles to job locations, towing equipment trailers, safely, to and from jobsites, and operating equipment and hand tools.  Must have a valid Class C California driver’s license with a minimum of three years of driving experience. Must be able to obtain a Class A commercial driver’s license prior to completion of the second calendar year of employment.

SENIOR CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN
Are you skilled in operating heavy machinery?  As a Senior Construction Technician, you will be expected to operate trenchers, backhoes, loaders, bulldozers, cable plows, and more.  This position offers the opportunity to use those skills to assist in various activities associated with the construction of our Outside Plant facilities.  Five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Must have a valid Class C California driver’s license with a minimum of three years’ driving experience, in addition to having a valid Class A commercial California driver’s license with a Class A medical card valid for a minimum of two years.  Pole-climbing certification required.

REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) desirable.  Full-time work schedule. Hours vary with Summer Schedule and Winter Schedule. This position may be required to work overtime including weekends and evenings as needed. Must have the ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.  Previous work experience using tools, equipment and techniques often found in underground construction is a plus.

POSITION:  Central Office Technician 1 – Dept. 35

Sierra Tel is the proud provider of communications products to the mountain community for over 100 years including telephone, long distance, internet, security systems, and more. The selected candidate will be responsible to engineer, install, maintain, and troubleshoot power sites, remote switching centers, emergency generators and automatic power transfer systems.  Therefore, a solid under of 48 Volt DC power systems is preferred.  Other duties to include building and troubleshooting circuits and maintaining dial tone for POTS, DSL services, and related equipment. Field visits to remote locations for troubleshooting and maintenance is routine.  This is a full-time position and may require overtime as needed. Work schedule also includes assignment to on-call shifts on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities associated with regulatory and legislative decisions and directives include strategic planning in cooperation with the Financial Director, and coordinating the implementation of the requirements of these decisions and directives within the Company, including informing Company personnel as to the impact of these decisions and directives on the Company.  The Regulatory Manager serves as the CPNI Compliance Officer and is also the direct supervisor of the Staff Assistant – CABS, Regulatory Analyst, and the Compliance Administrator. Access and exposure to highly sensitive documents, materials and conversation requires strict confidentiality on the part of the Regulatory Manager.

REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma, Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Regulatory experience required. Previous Telecom experience is desirable.  Valid Class C California driver’s license. Full-time work schedule. Hours vary depending on reporting obligations.   • At least five years of experience with utility regulation.
  • Experience and knowledge of the FCC Part 32 accounting and Part 36/69/64 separations process and requirements.
  • Experience in rate case filings and business plan modeling.
  • Experience with utility regulatory compliance and reporting.
  • Must have effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Must have intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Must work well with internal/external contacts and represent the company effectively.
