On January 28th, CalCom had the opportunity to host Assembly Member Tasha Boerner, Chair of the Assembly Communications and Conveyance Committee, and Emilio Perez, Chief Consultant to the Committee, on a tour of Volcano Telephone. This was an excellent opportunity for CalCom member companies – Volcano Telephone, Ponderosa Telephone, Varcomm, Cal-Ore Telephone Co., Calaveras Telephone, and Sebastian – to show the Chair some of the unique challenges small telecommunication companies face providing essential telephone and broadband service in rural and remote areas of California.
We want to thank Chair Boerner and Emilio Perez for taking the time to drive three hours round-trip to visit with us. Additionally, we would like to extend our appreciation to the team at Volcano Telephone for their hospitality and support in making this event a success!
