Memorial Golf Tournament

Volcano/Calaveras Memorial Golf Tournament Recap

The 17th Annual Volcano/Calaveras Memorial Golf Tournament greeted players with great food, fine weather and very competitive play, as always!

Overcoming severe handicapping penalties, the team of Dan Douglas, Barbara Douglas, Roger Barker [retired], and Linda Barker prevailed to win the Grand Championship and bragging rights for yet another year.

They were the low net winners. The Jackson Indian Rancheria team technically tied for first and was awarded instead the lowest gross honor [best scoring without handicapping].  Led by Marty Martinez and Dennis Dalton, the team annually excels in low scoring!.

Claiming the winning honors for the Saddle Creek portion of the event was the foursome led by Jim Rodgers, Ed Gouzenne, Jeff Umene, and Paul Moynier.  Congratulations to all the winning teams!

Thank you to the many sponsors who helped make this event a financial success.  Our very generous Gold Sponsors included:

  • American Power Systems
  • Calix
  • Cooper, White & Cooper LLP
  • Engineering Associates
  • Fiber Optic Supply
  • Golden State Cellular
  • Jackson Indian Rancheria
  • Moss Adams LLP
  • Ponderosa Telephone
  • Sebastian
  • Superior Essex
  • Volcano Telephone

Not only does the golf tournament feature fabulous food by Sharon Lundgren [President of Volcano Telephone], donations to local charities and plenty of networking opportunities, it is also a time to remember our friends from the telecom community who have passed.  Amongst some of the more memorable players, we remember Robert Ringman of CalCom, Don Blair of Happy Valley and Susan Graves of Volcano, just to name a few.

We appreciate everyone’s time and energy spent participating in this two-day event.  We hope to see you out on the greens again next year!
